About this deal

I had the same diagnostic done and was told it was the nox sensor my car is a 118i first thing on a morning it is very sluggish and makes a loud noise like a bad Diesel engine then after 30 seconds it jerks the warning light comes on then it runs fine. In addition, I believe that the mechanic saw the consequences of his “performance” when demounting the damaged sensor and understood very well that these damages were created by his own mistake. Here, the unprofessional “performance” of the mechanic has made losses of several hundred EUR during one moment. My parts and labor warranty ends on the 13th of December so it will be tricky to get costs back and also the car could give out during my holiday which will f**k it up tremendously but then at least I have irrefutable proof the car was faulty from the start and a higher chance of getting a refund under the Consumers Rights Act. I'm no expert by any means and it's my first BMW but to me it seems it's a faulty NOx sensor or probe.

Even after longer burning, cleaning off the soot, it turned out that the insulation of the wires was not damaged at all! Of course, it is also possible that the owner of the car (or the user of the car) also decided to keep silent regarding the unsuccessful maneuver to avoid unexpected costs. To check how the wire and their insulation behave in the impact of high outside temperature, I subjected them to the extreme test. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging .Sometimes it disappears and sometimes it doesn't show at all but if it appears (yellow) it's always the same coded which I read it out with my OBD2 scanner and on the photo I attached. I'm not in the habit of rushing into a forum but for reasons I'll explain tomorrow I can use all the the advice I can get asap. So, assuming your mechanic has proper diagnostic abilities, he/it has told you the NOx sensor is buggered. R S Parkin, t/a Darkside Developments is a credit broker, not a lender and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 728646). Should my one question as to why my engine light comes on not simply be answered by one diagnostic with the appropiate software? Other than that, it's a case of unscrewing it out of the exhaust and disconnecting the cable connection.

We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. IF there was nothing else on the diagnostic aside from the NOx sensor, then you'd be daft to not change it to at least rule out what the diagnostic has confirmed as a certain failure. I used them a couple of times for a few of my cars, and they seemed straight enough about what the issues were. Now the car has driven 93000 miles and had no replacement so I understand the timingchain could be ready for replacement. Only thing is irratic idling and the dial on 2000rpm when idle, which to me still points to a faulty NOx sensor. Either a) exhaust camshaft sensor has failed and needs replacing (unlikely), b), your timing chain tensioner needs replacing (very likely), or c), your timing chain itself has stretched (possible). You may want to shout at the mods to move your thread to the right section as this is for the 1M crowd.

Especially since the advertisement stated they've done extensive work on it like an oil change, rebalancing and a '250 point' checkup? Have no symton, the car run fine but bmw says I have to change it asap as it could cause bigger damage to the car. It is possible that the temperature of the exhaust (due to incorrect fuel mixture) has overreached 700 . It is not permitted to copy or distribute the data or the en-tire database without the prior written consent of msparts. He said not to worry about it as long as the car runs fine and emissions are passing MOT, this was not a necessary repair. Now I don't trust the mechanic as he clearly looks down on BMWs and his first question was whether my car had a chain or belt? Cars been playing up recently with erratic idle on start up and increased fuel consumption as well as Amber engine light ateast twice in the past week. And I'm sorry about posting in the wrong group, I was rushed to get an answer so must've misunderstood. d. have to assume that there would be a short-circuit in the probe because, in a normal situation, the current via the heating element of the probe is only around 1.
